Push/Pull Forces
We have been learning about:
About different forces.
Something I found out:
That Push and pull are completely different things.
Something I am wondering about:
How do magnets work.
Friction
Friction
What will have more/less friction
Carpet
I think there will be less friction than the grass and lineo but more than the concrete
Because its a little smooth but it has a lot of fluff.
Concrete
I think this will have the less friction of all because it is hard and has quite a lot of bumps.
Grass
I think this will have quite a lot of friction but less than the lineo because it is a little uneven but can be slippery.
Lineo
I think this will have the most friction because lineo is smooth and doesn't really have any bumps. Conclusion
I think that the best place to play tug of war would either be the grass or concrete
I think the grass because it a little slippery but its still got grip and if it was really wet i would go on to the concrete because its got grip and your still able to move.
I think the tug of war was a pretty fair test because there were the same amount of people on each side and everyone who played were wearing shoes. Everyone started at about the same place and everyone stayed where they were.
Im am wondering
High Impact Car Race Results
What did we do:
The first race was how could go the fastest and everyone had 5 minutes to have touch ups on the car and was have a protractor so that if we wanted to move the ramp to what we wanted it we could measure it.
The second race was the car that could stop closest to the line and everyone had 5 minutes again to fix/touch up the cars and everyone's car started at the same place and had to try stop at the green line.
The third race was which car could go furthest and again everyone had a fair race because we all got to make our car into how ever we wanted and we all started at the same race line and tried to end furthest.
The effects of my modification:
This car was for our first race to go fastest. We made some clay that had a curve in it to give it speed but this didn't really work out very well.
This car was for our second race to stop at the line. We add clay on to the top of this car so that there was weight and would make it stop easier and we didn't put clay on the bottom because if we did the car wouldn't move. This worked out but I think I could improve.
This car was for our furthest race. We put nothing on it because we thought that if it had nothing on it weight wouldn't cause it to stop. This race worked really well.
The results
How did our car do in the race compared to the others. For the first race I didn't think our car went to well put in the third race I think our car went really well. So I think it was average compared to the others.
What cars won the race, why did they win, were u surprised by any results.
I think in the first race car No. 2 and 3 won because there scores looked pretty good.
I think the in the second race car No. 6 won because they were the closest to stop near the line.
I think in the third race car No. 7 and 11 won because they had the highest winning scores.
I wasn't really surprised on who won I think everyone did a good job.
Reflection:
What we are learning about?
We were learning about forces and different way's to help forces
How does this work show my understanding of my learning?
This shows that I know how to use different ways of forces
What do I still need to work on?
Using more ideas to help with forces.
What am I wondering?
I am wondering how many different forces we can use to help us and the way we use things.

Cars
- What problems does our car already have?
- It’s too heavy on the back of the car.
- It doesn't slow down quickly.
- What is causing the problem?
- Too much weight on the back.
- The wheels are to loose.
- How do you plan to correct it?
- Put more weight on the front to make it equal.
- Tighten the wheels.
- How do you think you will make your car go faster?
- By making the wheels tight enough to make it go faster.
- How do you think you will slow your car down?
- What equipment will we need?
- Rubber Band,
-We put play dough in the front but it put more weight, instead it turned around the when it was going down the ramp.

What I tried today
I tried putting some clay on the front of the car and a balloon
Why I tried this
I tried this because I think that the air in the balloon will help it go faster.
I put clay on so that when it gets to the end it doesn't go past the end line.
What happened when I tried this.
The balloon went flat so I didn't try it.The clay stopped the car from going down the track.
What will I try next time.
Different ways of using the balloon and clay and maybe some Popsicle sticks.
What research did I do.
I researched how to make the car go faster and what I found was different ways of using balloons.

Force
Force = Mass X Acceleration
I think the basketball will drop first because it has air in it and its smaller unlike the 5 kg medicine ball because that's fall of sand and is bigger.
