Aim:
To investigate the solubility of Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Oxide.
Equipment:
- Spatula
- A stirring rod
- Beaker
- Measuring cylinder
- Calcium Chloride
- Magnesium Oxide
Method
- Fill the beaker with 100mL of tap water
- Add a spatula scoops of the Calcium Chloride
- Stir the solution until all of the Calcium Chloride has dissolved
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until no more of the Calcium Chloride will dissolve
- Record how many spatula scoops of Calcium Chloride were added
- Repeat experiment with the Magnesium Oxide
Magnesium Oxide |
Magnesium Oxide = 5 spatula scoops
Calcium Chloride = 7 spatula scoops
