Art Update Week 8

Art Update Week 8

This week I had been focusing on finishing my board 1 and then starting board 2. My theme is females in my household (past vs present).

The latest drawing I have done is of my ballet jewellery box which I'm going to put next to the drawing of the cabinet. I wanted to do it in black and white (pencil) because I want it to relate to the olden days when photos weren't in colour or tv weren't in colour.

My artist inspiration for my board has mainly been focused around Sofia Minson. I love the way she has a realistic centrepiece with a solid, flat background. It makes the centrepiece stand out.

For board 2 my artist inspiration is going to be Ava Seymour. I love the way she has the background in colour and then the people are black and white and has weird features.

My next step is going to be to complete board 1 (I need one more art piece at the bottom of my board). I'm also wanting to start onboard 2 by doing some photography.

My newest drawing of a jewellery box

These are some of my favourite pieces of Ava Seymour's artwork:

I like the way she has used the photo as the background of the artwork. Instead of doing the bobblehead people, I'm going to intertwine Sofia Minson's artwork by using pencil drawings of realistic people.  My plan is to take picture/collect pictures of my family members houses from the past and drawing "realistic" people into them to represent Sofia Minson and Ava Seymour.

Rendering Internal (DVC)

In level 1 DVC we are doing an internal on rendering our bottles. At the start of the year we had to design our own bottle. In our internal we had to draw our bottle 2 times and do 3 different materials. The yellow and blue design is a clear bottle, the pencil design is a metal bottle and the purple and green design is a solid plastic.

What did you like? I liked that we got to do colouring in. I also liked that it was on our bottle because we are used to drawing our bottles so it wasn't hard.

What didn't you like? I didn't like that the green and purple together. Also, the yellow colour was a little hard to work with.

How do you like it? I think it turned out okay. I like the pencil one the best.

Any thoughts or feedback?
