Level 1 Art, Term 3 Week 2 Update
Level 1 Art, Term 3 Week 2 Update
I am focusing on females and how things have changed (olden days vs modern days).
I like this theme because I can learn about the past and learn more about how things have changed.
My first art piece was of my great aunty (born 1934). This was actually the reason why I changed from doing wildlife enderangerment into olden days vs modern days. My artist inspiration is Sofia Minson and I decided to have flat, patterned backgrounds to incorporate her style into my art. I have also added gold to my art because it adds more dimension.
For my second art, I wanted to find something that I could add a flat background to. I found an image of a lady sitting on a stool but changed it to look more like it was taken in the past. I also like that instead of painting the woman I did a pencil drawing and painted the background. I changed the pattern on her dress to make it fit my theme more. For the background, I wanted something that had unique shapes and a pattern that I could add more than 1 colour to.
What wasn't working: My first theme that was wildlife endangerment. This didn't work because I struggled with coming up with ideas of what art to do.
What is working: I like doing the pencil sketch and then doing the flat background with paint.
What is my next step: Im going to try complete my second artwork by this week.
