Art Term 4 Week 4
My theme for art is the past vs present. I am using females in my household to show the difference between the olden days vs the present days.
Over the past 4 weeks I have been working on 3 different pieces of work for board 1. I have taken inspiration from Ava Seymour who takes people in black and white and puts them in coloured backgrounds. The style of her people that she uses have big bobble heads and usually look like little families. I decided that for piece 2 and 3 that I wanted to draw the heads for the ladies. They are all family members. I then photoshopped their faces onto butterick sowing pattern bodies and made them black and white. The photos I decided to use for the background are photos from when my house was first built in 1980. For piece 2 and 3 I have added a transparent background of lace and crotchet. Piece 1 I have used the youngest members from the family timeline and have also photoshopped the faces onto butterick sowing pattern bodies. To show the difference of past vs present I have kept them in colour as-well as the background.
My next steps are to do one more piece with the same image from piece 1 but the image will be the house now. I am also going to get my sisters together to stand in the same position.
