Art Update Term 4
Board 1 Complete
My theme for art is the past vs present. I am using females in my household to show the difference between the olden days vs the present days.
Over the last couple of weeks of term 3, I have been working hard on completing all my artworks for board 1. The main artwork I had to complete was my family timeline inspired by Dick Frizzell's Mickey to Tiki. The Mickey to tiki artwork starts off with Mickey Mouse fading into a red outline turning into a Tiki. To interpret this into my artwork I decided to do a family timeline starting with my nana (the oldest) ending with me (the youngest). I went and outlined every person on the timeline with a red felt and then with a sewing machine I stitched a red outline around the head. To connect everyone together I decided to use the excess string and glue them to each person showing a connection. I really liked how this turned out and I fell like it will be a very important piece on board 1. This timeline also can help start board 2 (present).
